Here I am.

Hello there — I wanted everyone to know that I am alive and well. It has been a busy fall and I’m looking forward to some time to relax over the holidays. I’ll write a longer post over some egg nog.
I hope all is well with you and yours.

More pictures.

I finally got around to posting more pictures. I found the “myGallery” plugin for WordPress and it really simplifies the creation and display of galleries. So, there are lots more pictures of my kids and the lake on the pictures page. Take a look!

Howling.

We had a pretty incredible windsurfing weekend this past weekend. Sunday was very mellow but Saturday presented conditions that I’ve seldom seen around here, at least in the summer time. We had sustained winds at over 20 knots for much of the day, and over 30 knots for quite some time.
The above graph shows the [...]

Something that actually worked.

As you can probably tell, I am a computer junkie. I tinker with my computer the way some people tinker with their cars. I like fiddling, being under the hood whether I’m driving anywhere or not.
The problem is that most things computer-related take ten times longer than they should, and never work the way they [...]

Through the Looking Glass – and off the deep end.

Wow. The season finale of Lost was last night. And, okay, I’m totally — well, lost.
Does this mean that season four will take place off the island? Has the island messed with space/time so that their pasts have been changed? For example, is Jack’s father alive?
How will I wait until February? Argh.

Jacob.

Huge Lost coming tonight. We are supposedly going to meet “Jacob,” the leader of the Others. My crazy theory is that Jacob is actually just a computer or machine of some sort, and that the name “Jacob” is an acronym. Weird, I know, but I picture an antiquated computer into which the old Dharma people used to [...]

The Man Behind the Curtain.

Holy smokes! That was an incredible episode of Lost – not just for the story, but for the fact that it pretty much threw an enormous monkey wrench into most theories I’ve heard to date. I imagine that many viewers are going back to the drawing board — I know I am.
The episode suggested [...]

Waiting impatiently.

Well, once again it has been quite a well since I have written. My time has been focused almost solely on work, which has been really busy, and on a recent family trip to Florida for spring break. The first trip to Disney! Whoa. That was an eye-opening experience. I’ll post photos in the [...]

Huge day.

The last several weeks have been so busy that I’ve spent little time thinking — and no time writing — about today’s Colts-Bears Super Bowl. It’s probably just as well, too, because if you happen to be as addicted to the NFL as I am, and you also happen to live in Michigan City, 80 [...]

Axis Natural Keyboard, part two.

Since I wrote my last post about the Axis Natural Keyboard, I’ve been doing some more digging. Their site has a number of artist testimonials, but it’s hard to really know what those mean because many tend to be paid testimonials. More interesting was a short video from NAMM posted atSonic State, which shows the Axis in action [...]
