Upgrading to WordPress 2.5.

I just upgraded to WordPress version 2.5 (WordPress is the software that I use to power this blog). It is a significant upgrade, and it is the first time I’ve done any upgrade manually, so there might be a few kinks I need to work out.

Testing Wordbook.

I’ve just installed Wordbook, which should update my Facebook profile as I post here. I’m new to Facebook and I don’t totally get it, but I’m trying to keep up with the times. Anyway, this post is designed to test Wordbook.

Working on it.

I’m still working on updating the site. I’ve rescued about half of the old posts. Unfortunately, this is a painful process that requires cutting and pasting them into new posts. Not as painful as retyping all of them, I suppose! It will probably take a bit longer to get everything back up.

I’m toying with the idea of moving the site from WordPress to .Mac to take advantage of the simple-but-excellent iWeb program. It looks easy to use [...]

More pictures.

I finally got around to posting more pictures. I found the “myGallery” plugin for WordPress and it really simplifies the creation and display of galleries. So, there are lots more pictures of my kids and the lake on the pictures page. Take a look!

First post.

When I first started a web diary in September 2001, it was while we were waiting for our first son, Matthew, to be born. It is amazing how much both he and the web have changed. Matthew is now well past three and on his way to four; and blog software has made my old, [...]
